ANNOUNCEMENTS - September 15, 2011


General:
There is a HOSA meeting on Friday, September 15 at 7:45 am in the library.

A sample of this year’s homecoming T-shirt is posted in the window of the library and Student Services. Seniors will be taking orders during lunch periods tomorrow. Cost is $10 and you must pay in advance.

Shanty Town 2011 will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18 at the Rusk County Fairgrounds. Participate in fun activities while raising money for Habitat for Humanity. More information is available in Student Services.

Courtesy Corporation McDonald’s Management Youth Apprenticeship is a great way to develop management skills, learn valuable transferable work skills, earn high school credit and secure a part time job that prepares you for the future. Interviews for the McDonald’s Youth Apprenticeship program will be on Wednesday, September 21 in Student Services. Stop into Student Services to schedule an interview for September 21.

Congratulations to the Girls and Boys Cross Country runners at Tuesday’s large 3 division school Invitational held in Rice Lake. Leading the girl’s team was Freshman Abby Krisik with a time of 23:50 on a 5000 meter course. Olga Galina came in second and Katherine Kester came in third. Other runners for the Lumberjacks were Jessica Luckman, Tiffany Nelson, Makaila Wallin, and Brea Daggett.
Alissa Mohr and Rylie Dagget ran in the JV race. These young runners also ran the 5000 meter course.
The girl’s team placed 10th out 17 division 3 schools. Joel Wojtyna was the first Lumberjack to cross the finish line with his personal best time this year of 18:17 Great job Joel!Next in for the Jacks was Freshman Payden Long followed by Dan Beck, Erik Nelson, and Kyle Lobermeier. On a tough field with a small team the boys came in 16 th place overall. The whole team did a super job last night and Mrs. Olson wants to say well done Ladysmith runners.

Next week the Cross country team has two meets. One in North Western and one on Thurday in Holcombe. On Thur at the Holcombe Invitational Girls will race at 4:45 and boys 5K race will start at 5:15. If you would like to check out a XC race just drop on by. This meet will be held on the Holcombe school grounds. All or any fans or fan would be welcomed! Bring your Cow bells!

Volleyball C team players are reminded to be at the middle school at 5 for the game.

Student Services:
Juniors and seniors may take classes through WITC or online second semester through Youth Options. You may select courses not offered at LHS if you have successfully completed all the course offerings offered through LHS in that subject area. Stop into Student Services for more information and to pick up an application.

Seniors who are interested in graduating at semester need to pick up an application in Student Services. Completed applications are due September 30.
