General:
There will be a meeting for any girls interested in playing Volleyball next fall on Tues. May 17, at 7:45 AM in the Library. This is a mandatory meeting so please mark it on your calendars.

Applications to work at the Athletic Facility this summer must be today. They may be picked up in the District Office.

LHS student have until today at 3:30 PM to sign up non- LHS guests for the PROM this Saturday, May 14.

Any junior girl interested in running as a candidate for the Northland Mardi Gras Queen should sign up in the library with Mrs. Peggar by Thur., May 5.

All students needing re-certification in CPR/First Aid or Life Guarding there is an American Red Cross Refresher Course Fri., May 6, for CPR/AED and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer 6-10 PM in LHS Health Room. Sat., May 7, Lifeguard refresher 8-12 at the Ladysmith Pool cost for administration fee is $5.00. Please be on time.

Attention Sophomores and Juniors see Student Services for more information on this opportunity: Jump River Electric is looking for this year’s sophomores and juniors to represent your school at the Youth Leadership Congress on July 13-15, 2011, at the UW River Falls campus.

Attention Juniors: Career Valley 2011 is being held on Thu., May 5. The bus will leave LHS at 8:45AM and return by 2:00 PM. This event brings many business and post-secondary education exhibits to one location. Career Valley is held in Eau Claire at the Indoor Sports Center.

The forensics team wrapped up their season this past weekend at the State Festival in Madison. Our 14 member team brought home 5 Gold medals, 4 Silvers, and 5 Bronze. The average score for LHS forensic members was 23.5 out of 25. Be sure to congratulate them on a fantastic year!

There will be a Student Council Meeting on Thu., April 21, at 7:45 AM in the Library.

Attention Juniors: Career Valley 2011 is being held on Thu., May 5. The bus will leave LHS at 8:45AM and return by 2:00 PM. This event brings many business and post-secondary education exhibits to one location. Career Valley is held in Eau Claire at the Indoor Sports Center.

Attention students: We have a great opportunity for any student interested in participating in a summer work experience in South Korea. Duties will include assisting camp staff with English classes and helping Korean students talk in English. Flight, meals, and housing are paid for in addition to three field trips. For more information and to complete an application see student services by Friday, May 6th. Space is limited to one female and one male representative. Camp is from July 23rd - August 22nd.

There will be a Student Council Meeting on Thu., April 21, at 7:45 AM in the Library.

Attention students and staff. Do you want to purchase Lumberjack Football appeal? We have hooded and non hooded sweatshirts along with short and long sleeve t-shirts for sale. Please see any football player to purchase these items. The football players will be selling them now thru April 29. The football teams thank you for your support.

Marshfield Clinic – Rice Lake Center will be offering FREE WIAA Sports Screenings for students planning to participate in school sports and who will be in grades
9-12. These screenings will be Wed. May 11 and Wed. May 18. Scheduled times will start at 5:30 PM. Call the Marshfield Clinic Rice Lake Center appointment line to sign up, the phone number is 715-236-8200 charge for the screening. Participating student MUST obtain a “Pre-participation Physical Evaluation” form from their school or on-online at wiaawi.org.

Student Services:
Summer School sign-up and applications for Environmental Challenge work crew are available in the Guidance Office or the Library. Registration deadline is May 6, 2011.

SUMMER WORK CO-OP: If you have a summer job and register for the Summer Work Co-op through summer school and fulfill all the requirements, you can earn ½ a credit. Students interested in earning a ½ credit through the Summer Work Co-op need to stop into Student Services and see Mrs. Opelt.

WIAA FREE PHYSICALS: The WIAA free physicals are offered this Thursday, May 20th. The students can pick up letters and information in the library and the front office.

GIRL'S VOLLEYBALL OPEN GYM is held each Sunday evening from 4 to 6 pm at the elementary school. Any girl's interested in playing volleyball are welcome. You do NOT have to be on a high school team in order to participate. Come and join the fun!
