Any junior girl interested in running as a candidate for the Northland Mardi Gras Queen should sign up in the library with Mrs. Peggar by Thur., May 5.

All students needing re-certification in CPR/First Aid or Life Guarding there is an American Red Cross Refresher Course Fri., May 6, for CPR/AED and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer 6-10 PM in LHS Health Room. Sat., May 7, Lifeguard refresher 8-12 at the Ladysmith Pool cost for administration fee is $5.00. Please be on time.

Applications to work at the Athletic Facility this summer must be in by May 10. They may be picked up in the District Office. Copies of your certifications must also accompany your application. Questions: Contact Jerry Lusk 715-532-5087 or talk to him at the pool after school.

All seniors should stop in the Library to see Mrs. Peggar to sign up for the KIWANIS Senior Recognition Banquet. This will be held at Tee Away Golf & Supper Club, Wed., May 11, at 6:30 PM.

Marshfield Clinic – Rice Lake Center will be offering FREE WIAA Sports Screenings for students planning to participate in school sports and who will be in grades
9-12. These screenings will be Wed. May 11 and Wed. May 18. Scheduled times will start at 5:30 PM. Call the Marshfield Clinic Rice Lake Center appointment line to sign up, the phone number is 715-236-8200. Participating students MUST obtain a “Pre-participation Physical Evaluation” form from their school or on-online at wiaawi.org.

The Junior Class Prom will be held on Saturday, May 14, from 8:00-midnight at LMS. This year’s theme is Hollywood’s Roaring Twenties. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased starting next Monday in the Office. Pictures will be taken by Connie Thompson, and picture packets can be picked up with your ticket. Anyone who is bringing a non-LHS guest must have him/her signed up in the Library by Fri., May 6.

All students planning to run cross country next fall make sure you sign up in the library, with phone number and e-mail address. Summer runs will begin in June. The July 12 distance Camp Flyer will also be available as well. Sign up this week to reserve your spot. Please see Mrs. Olson if you have questions and remember “nothing beats a great pair of legs! Join Cross Country!


Attention students going to Festival of Nations and the Science Museum – listen up! You must turn in your prearranges to Miss Berg now in order to go on Friday. Also, you MUST be at the school, ready to go, at 6:45 AM on Fri. – the bus WILL leave without you if you are not here! You will need a ride home from school that afternoon, since we will not be back until around 5:30 PM – make arrangements now! Any questions, see Miss Berg immediately.

Student Service

Attention students looking for employment. Samantha’s Collectible Dolls and Bears is looking for two responsible, hard working students to assist with packing, shipping, inventory, and webpage design. Submit a resume to Student Services. Interviews will take place next week. Deadline to apply will be Wed. May 4

Attention students: We have a great opportunity for any student interested in participating in a summer work experience in South Korea. Duties will include assisting camp staff with English classes and helping Korean students talk in English. Flight, meals, and housing are paid in addition to three field trips. For more information and to complete an application see Student Services by Fri.,
May 6. Space is limited to one female and one male representative. Camp is from July 23 – August 22.

Summer School sign-up and applications for Environmental Challenge work crew are available in the Guidance Office or the Library. Registration deadline is May 6, 2011
