All students needing re-certification in CPR/First Aid or Life Guarding there is an American Red Cross Refresher Course today for CPR/AED and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer 6-10 PM in LHS Health Room.
Applications to work at the Athletic Facility this summer must be in by May 10. They may be picked up in the District Office.
Seniors should stop in the Library to see Mrs. Peggar to sign up for the KIWANIS Senior Recognition Banquet.
Marshfield Clinic – Rice Lake Center will be offering FREE WIAA Sport Screening Wed. May 11 and Wed. May 18.
Junior Class Prom will be held on Saturday, May 14, from 8:00-midnight at LMS. This year’s theme is Hollywood’s Roaring Twenties. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased starting next Monday.

Duties will include assisting camp staff with English classes and helping Korean students talk in English. Flight, meals, and housing are paid in addition to three field trips. FCCLA is selling candy grams. Think of that special someone you appreciate or someone you would just like to send one to. FCCLA is selling candy grams for .50 and they will be for sale before and after school until next week Tuesday. You can also stop in Mrs. Harelstad’s room to purchase the candy grams. You can write a message to include in the candy gram and it will be delivered to the person you purchased it for. All proceeds are going to the Children’s Network.
The Bear Club is looking for your used printer cartridges and unwanted cell phones. These items can be taken to Mr. Bunton’s room.
Athletics: Congratulations to the LHS Wrestling Team on their 1st Place finish at the 16-Team Husky Invitational at Eau Claire North on Saturday, December 18, 2010.
All X-Country runners remember to sign-up to work concessions for this Tuesday, December 21 for the BBB game. Parent helpers need to call or email to sign up.
Classes: Aerobics Period 2 and Period 8 – remember your hats, mittens and coats this week for X-country Skiing.

UW-Barron County is holding a Campus Preview Day on Thursday, Oct.14th. It is an opportunity for students and your parents to visit UW-Barron County to learn about the admissions process and financial aid. You will have an opportunity to attend a class and take a campus tour. You will need to make a reservation in advance so they are able to arrange for a class visit and food. Check out the schedule on the Student Services bulletin board.
All cast members for the fall drama production should pick up your script from Mr. Novakofski.

Shanty Town helps to fund the next Habitat for Humanity house in Rusk County. It will be held Sept. 18 & 19 at the Rusk County Fair grounds. More information on how you can participate is available in the office.
The Pep Club will be sponsoring a dance this Friday, Sept. 17, following the football game. The dance will be held in the Cafeteria until 12:00 pm. Admission is $3.00 per person and all students are invited to attend. Any non-LHS guest will need to be signed up in the Library by Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 4:00 PM.
Freshman: your Wisconsin covenant pledge is due to Student Services today.
Reminder of the FCA kick off movie night tonight at the football field starting at 7:45. All are welcome.

CC results from last night: the Lumberjacks placed 8th out of 16 teams. Senior Andrew Hetke led the Jacks with a 25 overall place finish giving him a medal for 9th place for divisions 2 runners. His time was 17:36. Freshman Trey Webb ran a time of 19:08 coming in second giving him an 87th place finish. Joel Wojtyna ran a time of 19:10 and Mitch Livingston followed with 19:20. Dan Beck ran at time of 21:07 and Erik Nelson came in with a time of 21:52. Leading the Jills was Andi Ostenso running an amazing time of 14:29 finishing first out of 211 runners. Katherine Kester had a great time of 19:52 with Brea Daggett following closely behind with a time of 20:00. Jessica Luckman followed with a 20:22. In JV CC, Rob Hanson ran a time of 27:46 beating 7 runners. Brandon Davila ran his first race last night and did well.

Swim Team, Trident Coop, successfully defeated Rice Lake by a score of 122 – 47. They won all three of the relays and had a 1-2 finish in both the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay. The medley relay is an all freshman team consisting of Mariah Stoll, Kelsey Podgornik, Jamie Fuse, and Erin Molstad. They had 1 – 3 finishes in the 100 fly and 100 free which were important to the victory and score. Our swimmers won every event.
At the request of several students who were unable to attend the after school tryouts, there will be a special play tryout session next week Tuesday at 7:30 AM in the auditorium.

For the girls team Andi Ostenso won the girls race with a time of 18:52. Brea Daggett ran 26:27 and Katherine Kester ran a 26:33 with Jessica Luckman running at a time of 27:45. The girls team is still looking for runners—if interested see Mrs. Olson.

If unable to make any of these see Mr. Novakofski or Mr. Jenson. If you are interested in helping with working backstage, sign up with Mr. Novakofski or Mrs. Lawrence.

continue her winning streak. Katherine Kester, Brea Daggett, and Jessica
Luckman all had outstanding races. The next race is at Cameron on Thur September 9. All supporters welcome. Any students wishing to join cross country, it's not too late. Contact Anne Olson.

Andi Ostenso, a first year runner, placed first with a course record time of 14:23. She also beat Ladysmith's 4000 meter course record set by Aysa Sellers in 2008. Junior Joel Wojtyna came in
18th with a time of 20:28 and is continually improving. Mitch Livingston ran 21:54 and Erik Nelson had a time of 23:11. First year runner Dan Becker had a time of 22:13. On the girls' team, Jr. Katerine Kester ran a personal best of 20:39 time and Sophomore Jessica Luckman ran 21:34. The second meet of the season was the Bruce Invitational . Andrew Hetke ran a 19:31 to give him a 17 place finish and Andi Ostenso won her second race of the season. The Cross Country team is looking for more runners. If you want to join it is not too late. SUMMER WORK CO-OP: If you have a summer job and register for the Summer Work Co-op through summer school and fulfill all the requirements, you can earn ½ a credit. Students interested in earning a ½ credit through the Summer Work Co-op need to stop into Student Services and see Mrs. Opelt.
MARSHFIELD DENTAL CLINC is seeking to fulfill a part-time Office Clerk position. All applicants must be able to work 3:30-5:00pm Monday through Friday throughout the year. The Office Clerk will assist in small office tasks such as copying, filing, typing, opening mail, updating binders, and other tasks to gain a better understanding of the business field. Stop into Student Services to apply.
CONSERVATION CAMP is sponsored by the Wisconsin Land & Water Conservation Association June 22-25 at Trails End in Bruce. The camp is open to 8th, 9th, and 10 th grade students and the cost is $100. Scholarships are available to help with the cost. Brochures are available in Student Services.
