There will be a Forensics meeting at 7:45 Wednesday morning, in Mrs. Chopp’s room. Everyone involved in the Haunted House planning MUST attend.

The B and C Volleyball Team will be dismissed after 7th period.

Students: Currently you have the privilege to take food into the gym during lunchtime. Along with this privilege you also have the responsibility to clean up after yourself. However, some of you are not cleaning up after yourself. If the mess continues, you will no longer be allowed to take food into the gym during lunchtime. So if you like this privilege, show that you can take the responsibility to pick up after yourself and keep the gym clean during lunchtime. Once this privilege is gone, it could be gone forever.

Career tours at Chippewa Valley Technical College are now available. The next one is Tues., Nov. 2nd. Check out the Student Services bulletin board for more information.

The volleyball team will play Hurley at home next week Tuesday, Oct. 19th.

Today is the Heart of the North Conference Meet for the Cross Country racers. It is a home event being held at the Tee Away Golf Course. The first race is the girl’s varsity at 4:30 followed by the boy’s race at 5:00. Everyone is welcome to come and cheer your favorite runner.

Also, a representative from the UW-Barron will be coming on next week Tuesday, Oct. 19th, to visit with prospective students. He will be in the career lab from 11:30 to 1:00.

Seniors: Be sure to check the window by Student Services for more scholarships. It is updated when new scholarships arrive and some of these scholarships have a deadline for when it needs to be turned in.

UW-Barron County is holding a Campus Preview Day on Thursday, Oct.14th. It is an opportunity for students and your parents to visit UW-Barron County to learn about the admissions process and financial aid. You will have an opportunity to attend a class and take a campus tour. You will need to make a reservation in advance so they are able to arrange for a class visit and food. Check out the schedule on the Student Services bulletin board.

All cast members for the fall drama production should pick up your script from Mr. Novakofski.

Seniors: Be sure to check the window by Student Services for more scholarships. It is updated when new scholarships arrive and some of these scholarships have a deadline for when it needs to be turned in.

There is one item of clothing left in the lost and found from the Homecoming dance. It can be picked up in the HS Office.

Students filling out activity pre-arranges for bingo next week Tuesday, Oct 12, at the Ladysmith Nursing Home, should return your form to Mrs. Kuehn or Student Services. Do not turn them into the HS Office.

GIRL'S VOLLEYBALL OPEN GYM is held each Sunday evening from 4 to 6 pm at the elementary school. Any girl's interested in playing volleyball are welcome. You do NOT have to be on a high school team in order to participate. Come and join the fun!

ACT STUDY SESSIONS: There will be a Science ACT Test Prep on March 17 during periods 7 & 8. The English ACT Test Prep will be on March 31 during periods 1 & 2. The Math ACT Test Prep will be on April 8 during periods 6 & 7. Stop in at Student Services to pick-up your ACT Test Prep packet.

THE KIWANIS SENIOR BANQUET is April 14. All seniors are invited to attend. Seniors are to sign up in the library by April 7.

DISCOVER UW BARRON COUNTY at their Open House on Tuesday, March 16. Campus tours begin at 6:15 p.m. and program begins at 7:00 p.m. See posting in the Student Services window for registration details.

ROCKWELL AUTOMATION IN LADYSMITH is accepting resumes for the position of Part Time Student Office Help for this summer. Seniors may stop in to Student Services for details.

PM DETENTION for this week is in Mrs. Olson’s room.

ANY SOPHOMORE wishing to attend the Festival of Nations in St. Paul at the end of April must sign up with Miss Rabas or Mr. Novakofski by tomorrow.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS INTERESTED IN A MILITARY CAREER may sign up for a tour on March 18 at 9:30 am of the Armory in Ladysmith. Sign up in Student Services by March 15.

SENIORS MAJORING IN A TOOL & DIE OR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING PROGRAM are eligible to apply for the Lance Corporal Andrew G. Matus, USMC $1000 Scholarship. Pick up application material in Student Services. Application deadline is April 23.

THE BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM will be playing this Friday night at Chippewa Falls High School against Thorp HS. The sign up for the fan's bus is in the high school office. The cost is $4 for admission and $6 to ride the fan's bus for $10 total. The bus departs Ladysmith High School at 4:30 this Friday.

HOSA MEMBERS COMPETING AT STATE need to see Mrs. Krings for your competition guidelines.

THERE WILL BE A HOSA MEETING tomorrow morning at 7:45 in Mr. Bunton’s room.

THERE WILL BE A JUNIOR PROM MEETING tomorrow morning at 7:40 in Mr. Groothousen’s room. All juniors interested in helping with prom need to attend.

Congratulations to the girls' basketball team for their defeat of Washburn last night in the first round of the W.I.A.A. state regional playoffs.

YOUTH OPTIONS applications for 1st semester of next year are available in Student Services. Juniors and Seniors may take classes through WITC or online if they have successfully completed all the course offerings we have in a particular area. Registration deadline is March 1.

COLLEGE GOAL WEEKEND EVENT will be held this Saturday at WITC-Rice Lake, starting at 2:00. This is an opportunity for seniors, applying at any college, to get help completing their FAFSA form. Students and parents are asked to bring your SS# and their 2009 tax information. A scholarship award and other prizes will be given away throughout the event.

KEVIN FALKENBERG, ADMISSIONS REP, FROM UW BARRON COUNTY will be here on Thursday, February 25 during period 5. Be sure to stop by his display during lunch and ask questions about UW Barron County.

THERE WILL BE A HOSA MEETING today in Mr. Bunton’s room during Activity period.

YEARBOOK will meet today in Mr. Wagenaar’s room during Activity period.

JUNIORS AND SENIORS interested in a military career are invited to visit the local armory to learn more about this field on Thursday, February 18. Please sign up and turn in pre-arranges in Student Services.

THE WRESTLING TEAM would like to thank Mrs. Olson and the Dance Team, Mr. Yudes and the Pep Band and all students and staff who helped make last night’s wrestling event a huge success.
