ANNOUNCEMENTS - MONDAY, NOVEMBER 30


THERE IS A SIGN UP FOR THE HAWKINS SHUTTLE in the front office. Students who wish to ride Monday and Tuesday must sign up in the front office by 9:30 on Monday and you must sign up by Wednesday 9:30 to ride Wednesday and Thursday after practices.

ALL SENIORS need to stop into Student Services to confirm the spelling of their name to be printed on their diploma.

SENIORS ARE REMINDED to be sure to sell poinsettias for Project Graduation. All orders are be turned in to Mrs. Neisinger by Wednesday, December 2.

ASVAB INTERPRETATION is this Wednesday. Juniors who do not have a study hall need to stop into student services to schedule a time to review your test.

Students intersted in ordering a letter jacket may do so during this Wednesday's lunch periods. Chippewa Valley Sports will be here in the cafeteria to measure and order the letter jackets. Girls may order a guys or girls jacket.

STUDENTS ARE REMINDED to turn in a pre-arranged absence form if they will be gone tomorrow, November 20.

STUDENT MUST SIGN UP FOR THE HAWKINS SHUTTLE in the front office. Students who wish to ride Monday and Tuesday must sign up in the front office by 9:30 on Monday and you must sign up by Wednesday 9:30 to ride Wednesday and Thursday after practices.

Give a Goat Project

Students in our College Success Strategies class are raising money through "Wear a Hat Day" promotion. Students and staff at LHS can wear a hat today for a $1.00 donation to the Give a Goat fund. College Success students are raising money to purchase a goat for an African village.

NATIONAL SOCIETY DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION GOOD CITIZENS PROGRAM honors an outstanding senior (male or female) who demonstrates qualities of a good citizen. This is an opportunity for seniors to participate in a scholarship competition. If you wish to compete for the scholarship, pick up application information in Student Services and return it by December 4.

THE FOLLOWING MEETINGS WILL TAKE PLACE DURING THE ACTIVITY PERIOD TODAY: HOSA, Forensics, Winter Dance Team Members attending the UWEC Dance Clinic, and the seniors who will meet in the cafeteria at 3:20. All others are meeting in the advisor's room at the beginning of the activity period at 3:10.

Fall Vacation

Beginning Monday, November 23 and ending November 29 will be the fall vacation for students and staff in the School District of Ladysmith. Schools will be closed, however, winter sport and co-curricular practices will be held as scheduled. Have a great Thanksgiving and enjoy the break!

Winter Sports

This week all winter sport teams start practice for the 09-10 winter season. In addition, our strong Forensic team will soon begin practicing, as will our male and female club swim team. Good luck to all of our winter participants.

THERE IS A JUNIOR PROM MEETING today, immediately after school in Mr. Groothousen’s room. Bring your ideas and be ready to brainstorm.

ALL WINTER DANCE TEAM PARTICIPANTS , remember practice is at 5:30 tonight in the Apartment. Please use the back entry and the doorbell. All team members attending the UWEC clinic this Sat, departure time is 8:00 in front of the High School. . We will have a short meeting during activity time this Wed to discuss details. If you plan on attending you must be at the meeting.

THERE WILL BE A FORENSICS MEETING Wednesday during activity time. Anyone who is interested in participating in Forensics this year is encouraged to attend. If you cannot be there, please see Mrs. Chopp to sign up before Thanksgiving break. You are not obligated to participate if you sign up, but Mrs. Chopp needs to know how many people are interested .

CONGRATULATIONS to the Trident Swim Team’s 4 x 50 relay team consisting of Rachel Helgeson, Cassie Long, Missy Avery, and Hailey Zimmer for placing 14th at the state swim meet.

BOYS BASKETBALL PRACTICE begins tonight 4:00-6:30 at LHS. There is a parent meeting following practice.

Swimmers Compete at State

The Trident 4x50 relay swim team competes at the high school state swim meet being held in Madison this Friday and Saturday. Our Sectional winning team and school record breaking members are Missy Avery, Rachel Helgeson, Cassie Long, and Hailey Zimmer. Congratulations girls and good luck at state.

Heart of the North Sportsmanship

The HON Conference released the 2009 fall sportsmanship top 3 rankings for each sport. Ladysmith finished third in golf, second in volleyball, and first in football. Congratulations coaches and athletes keep up the good work.

A REMINDER TO ALL LIFGUARDS working for the Adapted Swim Program - We do have swimming today 6th hour. Please get passes from Mrs. Olson this morning.

MRS OLSON IS STILL MISSING DANCE ATHLETIC CODE ORANGE FORMS from some winter dance team members. You must have them signed by parents to participate in the first day of practice next Monday, November 16. You must also have your UWEC permission forms turned in ASAP. Make sure shoes have been ordered and all forms have been turned in to the office, including the physical form. Remember Disco Fever is coming soon, you must have a physical.

Tonight the Ladysmith High School student actors open their fall play"Much Ado About Nothing". Directed by Mr. Todd Novakofski, the play promises to be very entertaining with a very diverse cast. Here's hoping they "break a leg".

Pep assembly

There will be a pep assembly Thursday at 3:00 PM to recognize our state swimmers, our fall all-conference athletes, and introduce our student actors from "Much Ado About Nothing". We are using a late schedule so the final day of state testing is not disrupted.

Band will play to start the assembly.
(Girls golf will not be announced.) The assembly is for the student actors of our fall play, our athletes being recognized as all conference, and our conference champions and state participants.
