YOUTH OPTIONS applications for 1st semester of next year are available in Student Services. Juniors and Seniors may take classes through WITC or online if they have successfully completed all the course offerings we have in a particular area. Registration deadline is March 1.
GIRL'S VOLLEYBALL OPEN GYM is held each Sunday evening from 4 to 6 pm at the elementary school. Any girl's interested in playing volleyball are welcome. You do NOT have to be on a high school team in order to participate. Come and join the fun!
COLLEGE GOAL WEEKEND EVENT will be held this Saturday at WITC-Rice Lake, starting at 2:00. This is an opportunity for seniors, applying at any college, to get help completing their FAFSA form. Students and parents are asked to bring your SS# and their 2009 tax information. A scholarship award and other prizes will be given away throughout the event.
KEVIN FALKENBERG, ADMISSIONS REP, FROM UW BARRON COUNTY will be here on Thursday, February 25 during period 5. Be sure to stop by his display during lunch and ask questions about UW Barron County.
SENIORS: The deadline for local scholarships is Thursday, March 11. Don’t procrastinate until the last week! If you have any questions regarding individual applications or the process of completing an application, stop into Student Services as soon as possible. The teacher evaluation forms, the Prohaska application form and your attendance record are available in Student Services. Pick them up now.
NEW SCHOLARSHIPS HAVE BEEN POSTED: Seniors there are two new local scholarships available. If you are majoring in health care, education, social work or other professions which are based in service to others you may apply for the Charlene J. Carter Memorial Scholarship. The application form has been added to the special forms folder in the 2010 Scholarship folder in your grade 12 folder. The Indianhead ATV Club Scholarship application is available in Student Services. Pick up your application today.
DOODLE 4 GOOGLE CONTEST: If any student would like to send in an entry for the Doodle 4 Google contest, our school has registered and can send in 6 designs. Please follow the guidelines on the Google website and then bring your finished design to Mrs. Bricco by Friday March 5th.
HEALTH CARE ACADEMY APPLICATIONS are due and must be turned into Mr. Bunton no later than 3:30 today.

Students will have the opportunity to help create, participate or act in the clip. You may also help with effects or assist in the directing. Please see Student Services to sign up by Friday, January 15. This is an exciting opportunity for any students interested in performing arts, drama, broadcasting, and acting.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GIRLS C TEAM last night as they defeated Barron 34-31 and the girls A team defeated Barron in an awesome win 53-41. This puts the Jills A team with a 4-0 conference record and 9-1 overall.
THE WRESTLING TEAM raised its conference record to 3-0 with a 42-31 victory at Chetek last night. Great job wrestlers – keep up the good work!

The LHS boys' basketball team hosts Spooner tonight. This is the last game before the Lumberjacks travel to Thorp to take part in the Thorp Holiday Tournament on December 29 & 30 during the holiday vacation.
The undefeated Lumberjills travel to Flambeau tonight. This is the Jills' last game before they travel to Lakeland to take part in the Lakeland Classic Invitational on December 29 & 30 during the holiday vacation.

THERE IS A SIGN UP FOR THE HAWKINS SHUTTLE in the front office. Students who wish to ride Monday and Tuesday must sign up in the front office by 9:30 on Monday and you must sign up by Wednesday 9:30 to ride Wednesday and Thursday after practices.
ALL SENIORS need to stop into Student Services to confirm the spelling of their name to be printed on their diploma.
SENIORS ARE REMINDED to be sure to sell poinsettias for Project Graduation. All orders are be turned in to Mrs. Neisinger by tomorrow, Wednesday December 2nd.

A UW STOUT ADMISSONS COUNSELOR and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Recruiter will be here on Friday, December 4 during seventh period. Students who would like to meet with the UW Stout Counselor need to get a pass from Student Services Friday morning.

2009 HIGHER EDUCATION DAY VIDEO CONTEST sponsored by KnowHow2GO Wisconsin and EdVest is open to 7th through 10th grade Wisconsin residents. Individuals or a group of up to three students create a 60 seconds or less video dramatizing one of the the KnowHow2GO Four Steps to College and submit it by December 21st for a chance at winning $1000 for each group member. THERE IS A SIGN UP FOR THE HAWKINS SHUTTLE in the front office. Students who wish to ride Monday and Tuesday must sign up in the front office by 9:30 on Monday and you must sign up by Wednesday 9:30 to ride Wednesday and Thursday after practices.
ALL SENIORS need to stop into Student Services to confirm the spelling of their name to be printed on their diploma.
SENIORS ARE REMINDED to be sure to sell poinsettias for Project Graduation. All orders are be turned in to Mrs. Neisinger by tomorrow, Wednesday December 2nd.
ASVAB INTERPRETATION is tomorrow, Wednesday December 2nd. Juniors who do not have a study hall need to stop into student services to schedule a time.
A UW STOUT ADMISSONS COUNSELOR and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Recruiter will be here on Friday, December 4 during seventh period. Students who would like to meet with the UW Stout Counselor need to get a pass from Student Services Friday morning.
THERE WILL BE A STUDENT COUNCIL MEETING on Thursday morning, December 3 at 7:45 in the library.
2009 HIGHER EDUCATION DAY VIDEO CONTEST sponsored by KnowHow2GO Wisconsin and EdVest is open to 7th through 10th grade Wisconsin residents. Individuals or a group of up to three students create a 60 seconds or less video dramatizing one of the the KnowHow2GO Four Steps to College and submit it by December 21st for a chance at winning $1000 for each group member. STUDENTS ARE REMINDED that they will need to turn in a pre-arranged absence form if they will be gone the Friday before hunting season.
OPEN GYM FOR BOTH GIRLS AND BOYS is tonight, 3:30 – 5:00 pm.
NATIONAL SOCIETY DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION GOOD CITIZENS PROGRAM honors an outstanding senior (male or female) who demonstrates qualities of a good citizen. This is an opportunity seniors to participate in a scholarship competition. If you wish to compete for the scholarship, pick up application information in Student Services and return it by December 4.
A REMINDER TO ALL LIFGUARDS working for the Adapted Swim Program - We do have swimming today 6th hour. Please get passes from Mrs. Olson this morning.
MRS OLSON IS STILL MISSING DANCE ATHLETIC CODE ORANGE FORMS from some winter dance team members. You must have them signed by parents to participate in the first day of practice next Monday, November 16. You must also have your UWEC permission forms turned in ASAP. Make sure shoes have been ordered and all forms have been turned in to the office, including the physical form. Remember Disco Fever is coming soon, you must have a physical.
