Student Services has a job opportunity for a student willing to tutor a middle school student 2-3 days per week after school in a variety of subject areas. Please contact Mrs. Opelt for more details. Tutoring will begin after the holiday season.

Wrestling Team Wins Husky Invitational

The Ladysmith High School wrestling team took first place at the Eau Claire North Husky Invitational. The sixteen team tournament was won by LHS with a total score of 402.5, LaCross Central took 2nd with a score of 394.5, Phillips took 3rd with a score of 379.4. Congratulations Jacks!

FCCLA is selling candy grams. Think of that special someone you appreciate or someone you would just like to send one to. FCCLA is selling candy grams for .50 and they will be for sale before and after school until next week Tuesday. You can also stop in Mrs. Harelstad’s room to purchase the candy grams. You can write a message to include in the candy gram and it will be delivered to the person you purchased it for. All proceeds are going to the Children’s Network.

General:

Last spring LHS was part of a cooperative effort of all schools in the heart of the North conference to raise money for relief efforts in Haiti. Approximately $18,000.00 was raised by the Heart of the North conference. This money was sent to the Servants of All Orphanage in Haiti.
Recently, all schools in the HON received a Thank You letter and some photos showing how some of the money that you helped to raise was spent. The thank you letter and photos are posted on the Student Council bulletin board outside of the library. Everyone is encouraged to take time to read Julie’s letter and view the photos. Thank you again for your generosity.

All staff : Please check out the Tastefully Simple products in the teacher lounge. The dance Team is selling these delicious products to help fund the dance clinic. All orders will be in by Christmas. Any questions, ask a member of the dance team or Mrs. Olson.

November's Students' of the Month

Freshmen Mariah Stoll, junior Dan Beck, and senior Katrina Niles were recently named Ladysmith High School’s students of the month for November. A teacher must nominate the student and provide the rationale for the nomination. Approval for each student nominee is determined by a vote at the monthly faculty meeting. All three students were nominated for their academic excellence, desire to excel, and willingness to help others. Congratulations!
