General:

The Bear Club is looking for your used printer cartridges and unwanted cell phones. These items can be taken to Mr. Bunton’s room.

Aerobics period 2 and 8—remember to brin your hats, mittens, and coats this week for X-country skiing.

Athletics:

All X-Country runners remember to sign-up to work concessions tonight for the BBB game.

Meetings, practices, etc:

Student Services:

A reminder to students that the deadline to apply for the February ACT date is January 7.

More scholarships have been listed and deadlines are coming up for many of these scholarships. You need to keep checking the Student Services Bulletin Board and stop into Student Services for more information.

Most colleges and technical schools want applications turned in before January which means you need to have them completed before the Christmas break—time is running out.

Student Services has a job opportunity for a student willing to tutor a middle school student 2-3 days per week after school in a variety of subject areas. Please contact Mrs. Opelt for more details. Tutoring will begin after the holiday season.

ANNOUNCEMENTS – THURSDAY, JANUARY 7

ARE YOU 18 AND LOOKING FOR A PART TIME JOB? The United States Census 2010 has available positions starting in February. Pick up a brochure in Student Services for more information.

THE LHS STUDENT COUNCIL is sponsoring the American Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, January 14 beginning at 9am. You must be 17 years of age or 16 with parental consent and meet other guidelines to qualify to donate blood. Please check the Student Council bulletin board for more information or see Mrs. Krings or Mrs. Diamond. The sign up sheet and prearranges are in the library with Mrs Peggar. Give the gift of Life!! Look for upcoming announcements concerning the blood drive.

BINGO : Next Tuesday, January 12, we'll be helping residents play bingo at the Ladysmith Nursing Home. If you'd like to volunteer, complete a school activity prearranged form and turn it into Mrs. Kuehn in Rm 330.

DO YOU NEED HELP WITH ANY OF YOUR CLASSES as the semester nears an end? Student Services has a tutor available during study hall times or after school to assist with any of your academic needs. Please stop by Student Services to sign up for a time.

SENIORS: Pancake ticket sale deadline has been extended until next Thursday, January 14. All money and/or unsold tickets must be turned in at that time to Mrs. Hamilton. Seniors if you have not been notified about the location change you need to make on your tickets, you must see Mrs. Hamilton, Mrs. Neisinger or Mrs. Peggar. This is very important. The Pancake Breakfast will now be held at the Ladysmith Middle School.

SENIORS: If you did not stop in and see Mrs. vanDoorn yesterday, you need to do so today!

INDIANHEAD COMMUNITY ACTION AGENCY is looking for 10-12 students to help make a video clip promoting teens opposed to underage drinking. Students will have the opportunity to help create, participate or act in the clip. You may also help with effects or assist in the directing. Please see Student Services to sign up by Friday, January 15. This is an exciting opportunity for any students interested in performing arts, drama, broadcasting, and acting.

ALL STUDENTS IN 4TH AND 8TH HOUR AEROBICS come to class prepared for the outdoor adventure run.

Congratulations to the boys' basketball team for their big win over Flambeau.

THE GIRLS A TEAM took on Chetek last night and defeated them in a heated battle 36-35. Way to go Jills!
