ANNOUNCEMENTS - September 23, 2011


General:

The University of Minnesota-Duluth is having their annual Bulldog Engineering Day on October 29. Engineering is an exciting career that combines technology with creativity using the basic tools of math and science. On this day, students will have the opportunity to learn more about engineering as a career, visit the engineering department and labs, tour the campus and ask questions of engineering students and staff. If you are interested in going, please see Mr. Jansen by September 30.

Tuesday, September 27th students and staff are invited to participate in a fund raiser for the Hoefs family. If you donate a dollar, you may wear a hat throughout the day. HOSA members will be in the commons area Tuesday morning to collect your money.


Athletics:

Congratulations to the Trident swimming and diving team for their 103-67 victory over Tomahawk on Thursday evening. The ladies won 9 of 11 events and had several year and personal best swims. Next home meet is Oct. 6th.

Congratulations to the Varsity volleyball team for defeating Cumberland 3 sets to none last night. The JV team lost their match but played well to win the 3rd set. The C team lost their match but continues to improve.


Student Services:

Juniors who wish to take the PSAT in October need to sign up in Student Services by October 4.

Seniors should be working on college applications. You are asked to have Mrs. Opelt review your application before you submit.

Seniors who would like to apply for the $1000 Kohl Scholarship should pick up application information in Student Services. The application deadline is November 8th.
