ANNOUNCEMENTS - September 9, 2011

General:
There will be a meeting Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m., in the library with Dr. Lecheler and other staff to discuss student involvement in decisions about school policies and privileges. Anyone is welcome to attend. If you are not able to attend, but have ideas to share, see Dr. Lecheler before Wednesday.

Seniors are asked to submit a design for the homecoming T-shirt. Designs should be submitted to Lynn Neisinger today.

Students who wish to make a payment to food services should bring the payment to the cafeteria before the first bell in the morning.

Shanty Town 2011 will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 17 and 18 at the Rusk County Fairgrounds. Participate in fun activities while raising money for Habitat for Humanity. More information is available in Student Services.

Courtesy Corporation McDonald’s Management Youth Apprenticeship is a great way to develop management skills, learn valuable transferable work skills, earn high school credit and secure a part time job that prepares you for the future. Interviews for the McDonald’s Youth Apprenticeship program will be on Wednesday, September 21 in Student Services. Stop into Student Services to schedule an interview for September 21.

Try-outs for the fall play, The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, will be Monday at 3:40 to 4:30, Tuesday at 6:00 to 6:45, and Wednesday at 3:40 to 4:30. All try-outs will be in the auditorium. You do not have to attend more than one session. If unable to attend any of these times see Mr. Novakofski by Wednesday.

There will be Junior Bowling League meeting at West Cove Lanes on Monday, September 12 beginning at 5:00 pm for ages 12 and up. League bowling starts on September 19. Call Jim or Barb at 715.532.7812.

There will be a Student Council meeting on Tuesday, September 13 at 7:45 am in the library. All are welcome to attend.

Band Students are to report to the football game field for class today.

Student Services:
Juniors and seniors may take classes through WITC or online second semester through Youth Options. You may select courses not offered at LHS if you have successfully completed all the course offerings offered through LHS in that subject area. Stop into Student Services for more information and to pick up an application.

Schedule changes may only be made if you meet the criteria as printed in the student handbook. The criteria is also listed on the blue posters posted around the building. Only those schedule change requests meeting the criteria will be considered. Deadline for all change request is 3:30 today.

Freshmen need to turn in completed Wisconsin Covenant forms into Student Services today.
