All students in 6th hour Aerobics, remember this week is enjoy the outdoors week. We will be either snowshoeing or skiing. Remember coats, hats, mittens and boots.
Remember that compatibility quiz you took a couple of weeks ago? Well, the results are in! You will be able to purchase your matches this week Feb. 22-25 before school in the lobby and during lunch in the cafeteria. Cost is $1.00 for matches just in your class, and $2.00 for matches from the rest of the school. Bring your money this week and find out who you’re matched with!

Seniors this is a reminder that local scholarships are open and due on March 10. This is a great opportunity to get financial assistance towards your college education. Stop by student services to get help and application material. Remember recommendations are required for many of the scholarships so make sure you are providing them with plenty of time to get the necessary forms completed.

Seniors interested in the NUE Outstanding student scholarship should see Mr. Jansen to get the appropriate form and information. This scholarship needs to be completed by Wed. Feb. 16.

Registration for Forensics Sub-District is due today. Be sure that Mrs. Chopp has the full title and author of your pieces, and the correct spelling of all group members’ names.
Students that will be taking the ACT in February or April are encouraged to sign up for an ACT Prep session on Tuesday, January 25th at 8:l5 a.m. All students who are taking the ACT in February or April stop by Student Services and sign up. LHS math, science, and English departments will be conducting ACT Prep reviews during the school day prior to the test dates.
Spanish class: On Wed. Jan. 26, in homeroom you will be filling out a SHORT questionnaire about yourself and then about two weeks later you will have the opportunity to find out who are your top ten matches in the school. It’s as easy as uno, dos, tres. Look for the posters around school for more information. Start on Jan. 2l

Would you like to secure a part time job, earn high school credits and learn valuable work skills? McDonalds is offering a youth apprenticeship program that offers all of these. Interviews for the courtesy corporation McDonald’s management Youth Apprenticeship will be held on Thurs. Jan 20th. See Student Services to sign up for an interview.
Do you need money for College? Come to the FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid Meeting at the Ladysmith High School Auditorium on Wed. Jan 19th at 6:00 PM. Stop by Student Services with any questions and look for the flyers around the building.
9th and 10th grade students interested in learning about health care fields should apply to participate in Medical Discovery Days on March 3rd and 8th. Participants will tour CVTC and Rusk County Memorial Hospital where they will meet professionals working in the field, explore a variety of careers and participate in hands on learning. See student services for an application. Cost to attend is $10.00 which includes a T-shirt and meals for both days. Deadline is February 1.

The Animal Shelter is raising money to build a new facility in Ladysmith. New t-shirts are being sold for this project. If you would like to buy a shirt to support this Fundraiser, College Success students will be available all week in the am and at B lunch. Cost of the shirts is $12.00. All sizes are available. See Nicole White or Jennifer Stone for more information.
Students and staff donating blood today remember to bring your photo ID with you or your driver’s license. Students who are 16 need a parental consent.

The career lab will be closed Monday morning periods 1 through 4 for testing.
A NAVY representative will be set up in the lunch room on Tuesday, January 11th during both lunch periods. Feel free to speak with him regarding the opportunities they have.
The LHS Student Council will be sponsoring the annual blood drive on Thursday, January 13, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. You must be 17 years of age or 16 years of age with a signed Red Cross parent/guardian consent form. Students and staff are welcomed to give the gift of life. For more information please stop in the library. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Krings or Mrs. Diamond.

Most colleges and technical schools want applications turned in before January which means you need to have them completed before the Christmas break—time is running out.
Student Services has a job opportunity for a student willing to tutor a middle school student 2-3 days per week after school in a variety of subject areas. Please contact Mrs. Opelt for more details. Tutoring will begin after the holiday season.

However, if you bring a canned food item cost is $3.00 per person. If you are bringing a Non LHS guest—you must sign him/her up in the Library no later than Thursday (Dec 9) at 3:30.

Congratulations to Sigrid Stensvold and Mariah Stoll for their excellent showing at the State Swimming and Diving meet. Mariah finished as seeded with an excellent 200 Free swim. Sigrid had the honor of placing the highest of any Trident Swimmer or Diver with her 6th place finish in diving. She is the first Trident to stand on the Podium. Thank you everyone for your support.

For those wanting to help with Bingo at the Ladysmith Nursing Home tomorrow (Nov.9), you need to get your activity pre-arranged turned into Mrs. Kuehn today. If you signed up in Student Services, you must see Mrs. Kuehn today.

7:30. Cost for students is $5 and adults is $7. Come enjoy this award winning performance.
All cast members of the Lilies of the Field should be on stage and in costume at 6:00 tonight for newspaper pictures.
Seniors: The Jostens representative will be here on Wednesday, (Nov 10), during the lunch hours in the cafeteria. He will help you fill out your order form for your graduation announcements, gowns, and other senior items. Please remember to bring your order form and the $30.00 deposit.

Also making the top 8 and the podium were: 200 Medley Relay-Stoll, Zimmer, Fuse, and Molstad, Kelsey Podgornik 200 IM and 100 Back, Mariah Stoll 100 Free, Jamie Fuse 100 Fly, Sigrid Stensvold 100 back and 400 Free Relay: Zimmer, Fuse, Helgeson, and Stoll. Thanks for your support all season and now it is on to STATE.
The football players recognition night is tomorrow (Nov.9) from 7:00 to 8:00pm in the high school cafeteria.

This evening the Middle and High School Choral Music Departments will present their fall concert. You will be entertained by the 6, 7, and 8 grades and the High School choirs as well as the LMS Tone Chime Ensemble and the LHS Hand Bell Ensemble. The concert will start at 7:00 and should last less than 1 hour, giving you time to enjoy a great performance and still get home in time for the last ¾ of Monday night football.

Congratulations to Andi Ostenso on placing 10 out of 152 runners at the Division 2 State Track meet last Saturday at Wisconsin Rapids. A special thanks to all the team mates and fans that made it down to cheer and support Andi. We hope to take a team of runners next year to state. Anyone interested in cross country running should talk to Mrs. Olson or one of the runners, and start running now. Team members are reminded of the awards burger night at Tee-Away tomorrow (Tuesday) at 6:00. Any uniforms and warm-ups not turned in can be brought to the banquet and turned in.
Any girl interested in going out for the basketball team this year must sign up in the Library today. Today is the last day to sign up. Also, any girl basketball player interested in buying team shoes, they will be available in the cafeteria immediately after school.
Volleyball recognition night will tonight in the cafeteria from 5-6 pm. All team members are expected to attend and anyone who wishes to support volleyball is also invited.

The Bear Club is looking for your used printer cartridges and cell phones. This is not only a fund raiser but a part of “Make of Difference” which is a program to help keep the earth clean. Please bring your used printer cartridges and unwanted cell phones to Mr. Bunton’s room.

All athletes and team members leaving for the state cross country meet Friday are reminded that you must get your pre-arranged absence forms turned in.
All runners are reminded to turn in your uniforms and warm-ups. Make sure your name is on every item so you don’t get charged for it.
Cross country runners stop by Mrs. Olson’s room and pick up a flyer for the Award Banquet scheduled for Tues., Nov 2 at the Tee-Away. You also need to let Mrs. Olson know if you will be attending the banquet as they need to know how many to plan for.

There will be a HOSA meeting tomorrow morning at 7:45 in the library. This is for all current and new members. The HOSA organization is open to all students in grades 9 to 12 and is a good way to get involved.
