Girls Volleyball open gym will be held each Sun. night from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ladysmith Elementary School. All girls interested in playing are welcome to attend

The baseball informational meeting will be today Mon., March 21 and will take place in the cafeteria at 3:45 PM before baseball practice begins this evening. There will also be a baseball open gym from 6:30-8:00 PM on Sun., March 20.
Any girls who will be in grades 9 through 12, that would like to participate in summer volleyball league, beginning on Thurs., June 16, can sign up with Mrs. Peggar. You must pay $10.00 at the time you sign up. Come enjoy the fun! All girls welcome!

There is a signup sheet in the Library for any boys interested in playing baseball this year. Today is your last day to signup. Please do so during your study hall or free time.
Lumberjack Day will be on Friday, March 11. Some events for the day include the Pancake Eating Contest, Class Relay Race, Class Dodgeball, Best Dressed Lumberjack and Lumberjill, Dodge-ball, Volleyball, Bingo, Poker, Foose Ball, Hacky Sac, Chess, and Checkers. Sign-up sheets are posted on the Student Council Bulletin Board by the library.

Attention students attending medical discovery days. The trip to CVTC that was scheduled for this Thursday has been changed to next week Thursday, March 10. Please change your date on the pre-arranged sheet for CVTC from March 3 to March 10. Stop in student services if you have any questions.

SUMMER WORK CO-OP: If you have a summer job and register for the Summer Work Co-op through summer school and fulfill all the requirements, you can earn ½ a credit. Students interested in earning a ½ credit through the Summer Work Co-op need to stop into Student Services and see Mrs. Opelt.

ANNOUNCEMENTS – WEDNESDAY, MAY 12
BASKETBALL OPEN GYM: Basketball open gym for boys and girls is at the high school, 7:00-8:30 pm tonight.
STUDENT COUNCIL: There will be a student council meeting on Tuesday, May 18, at 7:45 in the library to elect next year's officers. All members should attend.
SUMMER WORK CO-OP: Students who have registered for the Summer Work Co-op through summer school need to stop into Student Services and see Mrs. Opelt.
GIRL’S GOLF MEETING: There will be a girl’s golf meeting during homeroom today. This meeting is required for all girls wanting to join the team. We will take orders for jackets and have an official sign-up. See you there.
BEAR CLUB will meet today during Activity Period in Mr. Bunton’s room.
CROSS COUNTRY: Students interested in running Fall Cross Country are to sign up in the Health room with Mrs. Olson this week. A meeting will be held the end of May to explain the summer running schedules and summer team run dates. All interested high school runners are welcome to sign up and participate in the summer runs.
WINTER DANCE TEAM: All high school students interested in participating on the Winter Dance Team next year should sign up in the library or Health room. There will be a meeting for all participants at the end of May to explain try-outs, competitions, and 2010 clinics. Please listen for upcoming meeting announcements.
THE MOVIE MAKING PROCESS – EDITING WORKSHOP is Saturday, May 15, 9:00am – 12:00 pm at LHS. The Movie Making Process is a fun, fast paced learning experience that requires creative thinking, active problem-solving and working together to make a movie. Registration forms are available in Student Services.
VOLLEYBALL MEETING: There will be a mandatory volleyball meeting in the library during activity period for anyone wanting to play volleyball this fall.
BASEBALL: Yesterday’s baseball game in Hayward has been rescheduled for today. Both varsity and JV games start at 5pm in Hayward. Baseball players are released at 2:50, departure is at 3pm.

BASKETBALL OPEN GYM: Basketball open gym for boys and girls is at the high school, 7:00-8:30 pm tonight.
STUDENT COUNCIL: There will be a student council meeting on Tuesday, May 18, at 7:45 in the library to elect next year's officers. All members should attend.
SUMMER WORK CO-OP: Students who have registered for the Summer Work Co-op through summer school need to stop into Student Services and see Mrs. Opelt.
GIRL’S GOLF MEETING: There will be a girl’s golf meeting during homeroom today. This meeting is required for all girls wanting to join the team. We will take orders for jackets and have an official sign-up. See you there.
BEAR CLUB will meet today during Activity Period in Mr. Bunton’s room.
CROSS COUNTRY: Students interested in running Fall Cross Country are to sign up in the Health room with Mrs. Olson this week. A meeting will be held the end of May to explain the summer running schedules and summer team run dates. All interested high school runners are welcome to sign up and participate in the summer runs.
WINTER DANCE TEAM: All high school students interested in participating on the Winter Dance Team next year should sign up in the library or Health room. There will be a meeting for all participants at the end of May to explain try-outs, competitions, and 2010 clinics. Please listen for upcoming meeting announcements.
THE MOVIE MAKING PROCESS – EDITING WORKSHOP is Saturday, May 15, 9:00am – 12:00 pm at LHS. The Movie Making Process is a fun, fast paced learning experience that requires creative thinking, active problem-solving and working together to make a movie. Registration forms are available in Student Services.
VOLLEYBALL MEETING: There will be a mandatory volleyball meeting in the library during activity period for anyone wanting to play volleyball this fall.
BASEBALL: Yesterday’s baseball game in Hayward has been rescheduled for today. Both varsity and JV games start at 5pm in Hayward. Baseball players are released at 2:50, departure is at 3pm.

CAREER VALLEY: LHS juniors have the opportunity to attend Career Valley in Eau Claire on Thursday, May 6. This event brings many business and post-secondary education exhibits to one location. Sign up in Student Services by April 29.
SUMMER SCHOOL APPLICATIONS, including Environmental Challenge and Drivers Education applications, are available in Student Services. Applications are due May 7th .
ANY JUNIOR GIRL INTERESTED IN BEING A QUEEN CANDIDATE FOR THE 2010 NORTHLAND MARDI GRAS needs to sign-up in the library by Tuesday, April 27. The Ladysmith Jaycees are looking for 3 junior girls with one alternate to represent our school in this year’s Queen Coronation.
AP EXAM PAYMENT: Juniors and seniors who are taking an AP Exam in May need to pay the fee for the test by Friday, April 30. If the payment is not received you will not be able to test and you will still owe $15.
THE MOVIE MAKING PROCESS WORKSHOP ; script writing, filming and editing is Saturday, May 8th at LHS. Whether you have a curiosity in the process of making a movie, an interest in making home videos, a desire to engage in the community, or just want a fun and educational experience this workshop is for you. Registration forms are available in Student Services.
THE BASEBALL DOUBLE HEADER SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY has been moved to today with a 4:30 start. Softball is still scheduled for Saturday.

FIRST SEMESTER COLLEGE SUCCESS STUDENTS should pick up their journals in Student Services.
SENIORS INTERESTED IN THE NUE OUTSTANDING STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP should see Mr. Jansen to get the appropriate form and information. This scholarship needs to be completed by Monday, February 15.
ANY JUNIOR interested in attending the county government day event on Feb 23 should see Mr. Novakofski before Friday, Feb 5.
HAITI FUNDRAISER: The LHS Student Council, Heart of the North, Mr. Novakofski and Miss Rabas are sponsoring a fundraiser for the people of Haiti. The global study classes are selling Hearts for Haiti. There are jars in the library and office for students and staff to contribute to the relief fund. The week of February 8-12 Student Council will be selling Mrs. Brown’s famous sugar cookies during lunch.
BASEBALL SIGN UP is in the library this week. Boys interested in playing baseball this spring should sign up by this Friday.
GIRLS SOFTBALL SIGN UP is in the library. Girls interested in playing softball this spring should sign up by February 12. Open gym for softball begins Sunday, February 14 from 1-2:00 p.m. for five weeks.
