General:
Girls Volleyball open gym will be held each Sun. night from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ladysmith Elementary School. All girls interested in playing are welcome to attend.
The Forensics team will NOT be ordering shirts this year.
Attention Forensics members! State competition is coming up on April 15 & 16. This is NOT the time to slack off! You must attend a practice session between now and April 8, or you will NOT BE COMPETING IN MADISON. See Mrs. Chopp to sign up for practice time ASAP.
Jostens will be coming to LHS on Thurs. March 31, during 5A and 5B lunch times to pass out graduation orders. You have to pay your balance in order to pick up your Jostens items.
Are you curious about what life will be like after graduation? Live on a college campus for four days while working in a fun career environment with business professionals. Preview college AND the career world at the same time! Looking for something fun to do this summer? Make lifelong friends, check out college life, participate in a trade show, watch movies, compete in a volleyball tournament, etc. Wisconsin Business World (BW) will be one of the best (and busiest) times of your life! BW 2011 will be held June 19-22 at St. Norbert College in De Pere and June 26-29, 2011 at Edgewood College in Madison. Any student who is currently completing his or her freshman, sophomore or junior senior year is invited to attend Wisconsin Business World. See Mrs. Titera if you have any questions!
The Career Cruising website added six new occupations to the Explore Careers section this month. Like all occupation profiles in their database, these new profiles include multimedia interviews with two individuals working in the field and detailed information that can help you better understand the occupation.
The new occupations are:

- Fire Investigator
- Proofreader
- Post-Secondary Education Administrator
- Volunteer Manager

Reminder to be using the Career Cruising website to not only learn about jobs, training and education programs, but help you search for a summer job!
There will be an ATV Safety Class that will be on April 19 and April 21 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM and April 23 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This will be at the Ladysmith Library. Cost is $10.00 per student or adult. You must be twelve years of age to take this class. Adults or parents are welcome. Call 715-532-0282 to pre register.
All blue recycling containers should be placed in the hallways every Wednesday.
Student Services:
There will be an ACT English/Language Arts Test prep 1st and 2nd hour on Thurs. March 3l in room 430. Students may sign-up in Student Services.

Students participating in HOSA state should see Mrs. Opelt for materials.
UW Barron County will be holding campus tours on Tues., April 5 beginning at 6:15 PM. For those interested, it is a time for both you and your parents to meet faculty and staff, while learning more about academic programs. No need to miss school so check this out.
Seniors that signed the Wisconsin Covenant during your ninth grade year have until April 1 to turn in their paper work to be eligible for a grant offered through the program. If you have maintained a B average throughout your four years of high school, demonstrated good citizenship, participated in your community, completed the FAFSA, and applied to a Wisconsin College you are still eligible. All students in First Semester aerobics and advanced aerobics make sure you turn in your lock with the combination and your name. If you do not turn in your locks you will be charged $10.00.
To anyone that wants to order a Ladysmith basketball sweatshirt: There will be a short meeting in the cafeteria after school this Thursday to order. You must be present in order to receive a sweatshirt. The cost is $35.00 with a name printed on the back, or $30.00 with no name on the back. Please remember to bring your money to the meeting. Any questions please contact Rachel Rands.

All students enrolled in lifeguarding we begin swimming on Monday. Please remember your suit, towel & goggles. Meet in the pool fourth hour.

Interviews for the courtesy corporation McDonald’s management Youth Apprenticeship will be held on Thurs. Jan 20th. See Student Services to sign up for an interview.

GIRL'S VOLLEYBALL OPEN GYM is held each Sunday evening from 4 to 6 pm at the elementary school. Any girl's interested in playing volleyball are welcome. You do NOT have to be on a high school team in order to participate. Come and join the fun!
ACT STUDY SESSIONS: There will be a Science ACT Test Prep on March 17 during periods 7 & 8. The English ACT Test Prep will be on March 31 during periods 1 & 2. The Math ACT Test Prep will be on April 8 during periods 6 & 7. Stop in at Student Services to pick-up your ACT Test Prep packet.
THE KIWANIS SENIOR BANQUET is April 14. All seniors are invited to attend. Seniors are to sign up in the library by April 7.
THERE IS A BASEBALL MEETING IN THE CAFETERIA at 4:00pm today.
STUDENT COUNCIL will meet on Thursday, March 18 at 7:45 a.m. in the library.

The Lumberjack Boys' Basketball team closed out their fine season with a loss in the state sectionals to Thorp in overtime. Nice season Jacks!

REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR THE APRIL 10 ACT is March 5. Juniors who have not previously taken the ACT should register for the April test. You may register on line at act.org or you may pick up a registration packet in Student Services. The next test date is June 12. Juniors should take the ACT prior to the fall of their senior year.

Let's get everyone involved and have a great day! Students, don't forget to wear your best Lumberjack or jll costume. $20.00 will be awarded to the best dressed Lumberjack and jill.
STUDENTS WITH OUTSTANDING UNSERVED DETENTION will NOT be allowed to participate in Lumberjack Day.

STUDENTS ATTENDING MEDICAL DISCOVERY DAYS are reminded to turn in your pre-arranges before Wednesday morning. The bus will depart on Wednesday morning at 8:15. Also, remember that you may not wear jeans on either day.
FORENSICS STUDENTS going to read at the elementary school today need to be dismissed early. Those students with a class during 5A should be released at noon to eat lunch. Students with a 5B class, should be dismissed at 12:35. We will be leaving from the Commons at 12:45.
