Marshfield Clinic – Rice Lake Center will be offering FREE WIAA Sports Screenings for students planning to participate in school sports and who will be in grades
9-12. These screenings will be Wed. May 11 and Wed. May 18. Scheduled times will start at 5:30 PM. Call the Marshfield Clinic Rice Lake Center appointment line to sign up, the phone number is 715-236-8200 charge for the screening. Participating student MUST obtain a “Pre-participation Physical Evaluation” form from their school or on-online at wiaawi.org.

Duties will include assisting camp staff with English classes and helping Korean students talk in English. Flight, meals, and housing are paid in addition to three field trips. The forensics team wrapped up their season this past weekend at the State Festival in Madison. Our 14 member team brought home 5 Gold medals, 4 Silvers, and 5 Bronze. The average score for LHS forensic members was 23.5 out of 25. Be sure to congratulate them on a fantastic year!

There will be a MANDATORY informational meeting today at 7:50 AM and 3:35 PM in room 700 about cost, permission slips, and tips on attending the trip. You must attend one of these meetings, or stop in and see Miss Berg in room 700 this week, in order to go on the trip. Bring something to write with!

HOSA state competition was held in Wisconsin Dells on Sunday and Monday. We had 23 competitors that represented Ladysmith Health Care Academy with excellence. Congratulations to all of our competitors for doing an outstanding job.
Four of our competitors took 1st place which qualifies them for Nationals this June in California. Kayla Nyseth and Sigrid Stensvold in CPR/ First Aid. Emily Nelson in Pharmacology. Emily Nelson and Tristin Nelson in Health Education. Congratulations to these individuals.

Any seniors who have not turned in their baby pictures to Taylor Gappa need to do so no later than Fri. April 15!
Attention ALL LHS and International students going on the Festival of Nations/Science Museum Trip on Fri., May 6. There will be a MANDATORY informational meeting on Tues. and Wed. April 12 and 13 at 7:50 AM and 3:35 PM in room 700 about cost, permission slips, and tips on attending the trip. You must attend one of these meetings, or stop in and see Miss Berg in room 700 this week, in order to go on the trip. Bring something to write with!

Challenge yourself with taking part in hands-on workshops aimed at developing leadership skills! If you are interested, you could get a shot at serving on the Wisconsin Electric Cooperative Association’s Statewide Youth Board – AND THAT’S NOT ALL – You could even win a trip to Washington, D.C.

SUMMER SCHOOL APPLICATIONS, including Environmental Challenge and Drivers Education applications, are available in Student Services. Applications are due May 7th .
ANY JUNIOR GIRL INTERESTED IN BEING A QUEEN CANDIDATE FOR THE 2010 NORTHLAND MARDI GRAS needs to sign-up in the library by Tuesday, April 27. The Ladysmith Jaycees are looking for 3 junior girls with one alternate to represent our school in this year’s Queen Coronation.
AP EXAM PAYMENT: Juniors and seniors who are taking an AP Exam in May need to pay the fee for the test by Friday, April 30. If the payment is not received you will not be able to test and you will still owe $15.
THE MOVIE MAKING PROCESS WORKSHOP ; script writing, filming and editing is Saturday, May 8th at LHS. Whether you have a curiosity in the process of making a movie, an interest in making home videos, a desire to engage in the community, or just want a fun and educational experience this workshop is for you. Registration forms are available in Student Services.
THE BASEBALL DOUBLE HEADER SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY has been moved to today with a 4:30 start. Softball is still scheduled for Saturday.

The Trees for Tomorrow Natural Resources Careers Workshop shows you where and how to get the practical education and training you need to become a forester, botanist, conservation officer, wildlife biologist, outdoor recreation manager, water resource specialist, fisheries manager or other natural resource professional! Follow your passion and explore a career in the outdoors at the Trees for Tomorrow Natural Resources Careers Workshop June 21-25. Applications are available in Student Services.

MATH ACT STUDY SESSION: Math ACT Test Prep is today, during periods 6 & 7. Those students who signed up in Student Services should report to auditorium after period 5. Bring your packet with you.
THE TIME OUT SHELTER is looking for volunteers to work at a dance on April 17 from 5-10 pm. They also need students to make decorations for the dance. The theme is the 50’s & 60’s. This is a great way to acquire community service!
SUMMER DRIVERS EDUCATION : Freshmen who are taking Drivers Education this summer need to sign up in Student Services.
SENIORS : The deadline to sign-up for Class Speaker tryouts and the Class Speaker Selection Committee is today at 3:30 p.m. Sign up in Mr. Bunton’s room.
BINGO: April 13 will be the next opportunity for 6 students to volunteer at the Ladysmith Nursing Home to help with BINGO! School activity pre-arranges can be picked up and returned in RM 330.
