THE JUNIOR CLASS PROM will be held on Saturday, May 15, from 8-midnight in the high school gym. This year's theme is Once Upon a Time. Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased in the office before school and during lunch starting Monday, May 3. Pictures will be taken by Connie Thompson. Anyone bringing a non-LHS guest must sign him/her up in the library by Wednesday, May 5, at 3:30.
ATTENTION PROM COURT: The Ladysmith News will be here on Tuesday morning at 8a.m. to take a picture of the court. Meet in the commons by the front office promptly at 8.
MARDI GRAS QUEEN CANDIDATE VOTING: First hour teachers don’t forget to vote for Mardi Gras Queen Candidates this morning in your first period class.
AN ADMISSIONS COUNSELOR FROM CHIPPEWA VALLEY TECHNICAL COLLEGE will be here on tomorrow at 9:30 am to meet with students who have an interest in attending technical college. If you want to learn more about Chippewa Valley Technical College and its programs, sign up in Student Services to meet with the admissions counselor.
SUMMER CAMP OPPORTUNITIES AT MARION COLLEGE IN FOND DU LAC this summer include Business Camp, June 20-24 and Criminal Justice Camp, June 21-23. The Business Camp introduces you to the challenges of being successful in the business world; from team-building and group activities, to a simulation of running your own $40 million company. The Criminal Justice Camp participants will discover and practice a variety of techniques from surveillance and hostage situations to crime scene investigation. Registration deadline is May 20. Camp information and registration forms are available in Student Services.
FORENSICS T-SHIRTS are here and students who ordered shirts must pay for them and pick them up by tomorrow. Cost is $15. See Mrs. Chopp ASAP.
THE TENDER LEARNING CENTER in Ladysmith has a part-time position open beginning immediately. The hours are 3:00-5:30 Monday thru Friday. You must be 18 years old to apply. Apply at the Tender Learning Center on Menasha Avenue.
SENIOR RECOGNITION BANQUET: Reservation forms for the Senior Recognition Banquet are due by May 7th to Mr. Bunton. More information and blank forms are available from Mr. Bunton or Student Services.
FLOWER SALE: The Ladysmith High School College Success class would like to remind all students and staff that Mother’s Day is coming up Sunday, May 9. This is the one time during the year you can let that special female know how much you appreciate the hours of painful labor she went through and for putting up with you all these years. College Success students will be taking orders for carnations and roses this week in the front lobby in the morning and during the noon hour. Carnations are $2 and roses are $3. Delivery will be 8th hour on Friday. All profits will be used to make a donation to the March of Dimes, a non-profit organization dedicated to healthy births and the prevention of birth defects. So bring your dollars and order a flower for you mom!
LIFEGUARDS: You will be swimming all this week-meet in the pool.
CONGRATULATIONS TO EMILY NELSON: At the National History Day state finals Saturday she was selected as co-champion in the senior research paper division. Emily will be representing the state at the national finals in June. Congratulations again, Emily. Good Job!!!
