The 2010 Ladysmith Dance Team has ten hard working young ladies. We have
two new freshmen dancers, Brooke Potter and Shianne Larsen joining the team
this year... They are working hard to learn new and complicated steps and
routines. Other new faces this year are Jessica Luckman, Hyun-jin (Jin) Kim an exchange student from Korea, and Olga Galina. All three are doing a
wonderful job and putting in a lot of time at practices. Return dancers are
Emily Grotzinger, Hannah Douglass, Sarah McGinn, Kara Stushek, and Mckenzie
Anderson. These ladies our the core of the team and just get better every
year.
The team's first routine is a great performance using poms titled “Tik Tok”. It
has spins leaps and our dance teams first double turn. It’s got a great
melody and just a touch of hip hop to make it fun. Next on the list is a
Salsa dance with great Latin moves and rhythm. The name of this routine is
“Fire”. It is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Our third and by far hardest
routine is a hip hop dance titled “Freak”. It’s the most challenging
dance of the season the last two dances will be Lyrical and the end of
season dance is team’s choice. The Ladysmith Dance Team performs at
Wrestling, and Boys and Girls Basketball each month. The team practices every night form 3:30-5:30 Mon-Thur and then every Sunday 6:30 to 8:30.
