At the request of several students who were unable to attend the after school tryouts, there will be a special musical tryout session tomorrow, Tuesday, at 7:30 AM in the auditorium.
Juniors interested in taking the PSAT should see Student Service to sign-up. The test day is Wed., Oct 13 and cost is $14.00. Deadline to sign up is Sept 30th.
Seniors interested in early graduation need to see Mrs. Opelt for an application. Seniors remember to schedule your senior meeting with Mrs. Opelt.
Shanty Town helps to fund the next Habitat for Humanity house in Rusk County. It will be held Sept. 18 & 19 at the Rusk County Fair grounds. More information on how you can participate is available in the office.
School pictures will be tomorrow, Tuesday. There are additional picture packets in the Library.
The Pep Club will be sponsoring a dance this Friday, Sept. 17, following the football game. The dance will be held in the Cafeteria until 12:00 pm. Admission is $3.00 per person and all students are invited to attend. Any non-LHS guest will need to be signed up in the Library by Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 4:00 PM.
Mr. Bunton’s biology classes, periods 1, 4, 5, and 7 are reminded to meet at the cabin today for class. Students should bring your textbooks.
All money for CC shirts must be turned by this Wednesday.
Students mark you calendars: Pep Club would like to announce that there is a home Girls Golf meet today, a VB game Tuesday, a home swimming meet on Thursday. And also a home football game this Friday. Come out and support your teams.

There will be a BEAR Club meeting this Thursday morning at 7:55am in the Library. This is an open meeting and anyone interested in joining the BEAR Club should attend.
Internationally known Sno-boarder, Steve Fisher, will be signing autograph at Mt. Scenario tonight at 4:00. Come and meet the legend and bring your skateboards and sno-boards for Steve to sign.

Swim Team, Trident Coop, successfully defeated Rice Lake by a score of 122 – 47. They won all three of the relays and had a 1-2 finish in both the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay. The medley relay is an all freshman team consisting of Mariah Stoll, Kelsey Podgornik, Jamie Fuse, and Erin Molstad. They had 1 – 3 finishes in the 100 fly and 100 free which were important to the victory and score. Our swimmers won every event.

Congratulations to the Cross Country team for their awesome performance at Cameron last night. Senior Andy Hetke won the boys race with a time of 18:21. The boys team took 2nd place overall with Joel Wotyna coming in 7th place with a time of 18:59followed by Trey Webb with a time of 19:55. Mitch Livingston finished in 13 place with a time of 20:12. For the girls team Andi Ostenso won the girls race with a time of 18:52. Brea Daggett ran 26:27 and Katherine Kester ran a 26:33 with Jessica Luckman running at a time of 27:45. The girls team is still looking for runners—if interested see Mrs. Olson.

Ladysmith International Student Program
Welcome to all of Ladysmith's International students! Students from around the world have been arriving to attend Ladysmith High School and our Health Care Academy. Local LHS students, and community members have been meeting and greeting our new students as they arrive. There have been various activities and events outside of school that our international students have already taken part in.
Today, several international students attended the student council meeting and signed up to be a member of our students' governing body. We are excited about their involvement and commitment to LHS.

Tryouts for the fall musical, “Willy Wonka” will be tonight at 6:00pm in the LHS auditorium, and also after school tonight at the Middle School. If unable to make any of these see Mr. Novakofski or Mr. Jenson. If you are interested in helping with working backstage, sign up with Mr. Novakofski or Mrs. Lawrence.

Congrats to the Ladysmith Cross Country team that traveled to the Spooner scrimmage. Andrew Hekte had a personal best time, as did Nolan Bullard, Rob Hanson, Erik Nelson, and Charlie Coughnenour, as well as new runner Dan Beck.
The girls team continues to run well, Andi Ostenso won the girls race to
continue her winning streak. Katherine Kester, Brea Daggett, and Jessica
Luckman all had outstanding races. The next race is at Cameron on Thur September 9. All supporters welcome. Any students wishing to join cross country, it's not too late. Contact Anne Olson.

Girl’s golf went to Superior last night and shot well. As a team their total was 217and they tied for second. Haley Seifert shot a 44 and took first place adding 5 points to her conference score. Their next match is at home on Tuesday. Come out and support your team.
Any lifeguards with a current CPR card and who had period 6 free can sign up to lifeguard for the Adapted Swim. This is a paid position. See Mrs. Olson if you are interested.
All of Mrs. Olson’s Aerobic and Advanced Aerobics classes will meet in the Health Room #720 today.

Congratulations to the Cross Country Team on their first meet of the season. Andrew Hetke ran a strong 19:05 and earned a 5th place finish. Andi Ostenso, a first year runner, placed first with a course record time of 14:23. She also beat Ladysmith's 4000 meter course record set by Aysa Sellers in 2008. Junior Joel Wojtyna came in
18th with a time of 20:28 and is continually improving. Mitch Livingston ran 21:54 and Erik Nelson had a time of 23:11. First year runner Dan Becker had a time of 22:13. On the girls' team, Jr. Katerine Kester ran a personal best of 20:39 time and Sophomore Jessica Luckman ran 21:34. The second meet of the season was the Bruce Invitational . Andrew Hetke ran a 19:31 to give him a 17 place finish and Andi Ostenso won her second race of the season. The Cross Country team is looking for more runners. If you want to join it is not too late. Contact Coach Olson or Coach Anderson.
